Ferran Torres is enjoying a wonderful season with Barcelona so far, having elevated his game to the next level.
The Spaniard has already racked up seven goals in all competitions, and although his form has dipped compared to early-season trends, he remains a key option for Barcelona upfront.
Ferran showcased his worth once again by mustering a goal and an assist in Spain’s recent win over Georgia.
Despite his impressive performances, Barcelona have been surprisingly slow in their efforts to renew the contract of Ferran, which expires in 2027.
But in the wake of his excellent performance against Georgia, Diario SPORT reports that Barcelona are aware they have to make a move to renew Ferran’s contract sooner rather than later.

The Spanish international is considered a vital piece to Barcelona’s long-term project, with the club viewing him as a ‘future striker’.
Ferran is indeed one of the candidates to replace the ageing Robert Lewandowski in the long run. However, it is possible Barcelona might sign another individual to provide some healthy competition for the former Man City frontman.
Barcelona have always maintained their desire to renew the contract of Torres. But their delayed approach comes in the wake of more immediate focus areas, which include the renewal of Frenkie de Jong.
But now that some of these intricacies are out of the way, Barcelona can focus on renewing the contract of Ferran Torres as the club continue to secure the future of their long-term stars.
Throughout the course of the campaign, the Catalans have already renewed the contracts of Lamine Yamal, de Jong and Pedri, among other others. Ferran could very well become the next player to join the list.
