An insight into the stance of those in a position of power at La Liga giants Barcelona when it comes to the potential signing of Viktor Gyökeres from Arsenal has come to the fore online.

The name of frontman Gyökeres of course emerged, almost out of the blue, as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines surrounding Barcelona on Wednesday.

Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements at centre-forward, the Blaugrana, it is understood, have been offered up the services of Arsenal’s powerful frontman.

Deco and co. have all but thrown in the towel on their pursuit of Atlético Madrid’s Julián Alvarez, with Gyökeres’ entourage pushing the name of their client as an alternative.

So, just where do the Camp Nou brass stand when it comes to the potential arrival of the former Sporting CP standout? As per a report from Barca insider Adrian Sanchez:

‘Gyokeres is absolutely crazy about the idea of being able to join Barça. He has offered himself on several occasions and the club is considering it but not as a priority.’
