The final day of international matches for the Nerazzurri who are away with their respective teams during the international break.
In Europe, the window for Italy closed with a 3-0 victory over Israel at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine. A Mateo Retegui brace won the day for Gattuso's side, before Mancini added a third from a perfect cross by Federico Dimarco. There were three Nerazzurri involved for Italy last night, as well as Dimarco: Nicolò Barella also started and played the full 90, while Francesco Pio Esposito came on at half-time and played the entire second 45. Davide Frattesi did not feature.
The win gives the Azzurri three massive points in the hunt for qualification to next year's World Cup. It is now impossible for Israel to catch Italy, as they are six points behind with just one game left to play. So, Italy are currently in second place in Group I, guaranteed of at least a play-off spot with two games to spare.
Hakan Calhanoglu and Türkiye also tasted victory. The Inter midfield, who captains his country, was brilliant in their 4-1 win against Georgia in Kocaeli. Calha got two assists, both for Demiral. Goals for Yildiz and Akgun completed the scoreland, while Kochorashvili scored the consolation goal for Georgia. Calhanoglu played 78 minutes before making way for Ozcan. He was also rewarded with a special shirt to celebrate his 100th cap, which he reached against Bulgaria.
Türkiye now have nine points in Group E, three behind leaders Spain. They are second with two games to go.
