Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has chosen not to comment on the futures of Lehlohonolo Mojela and Lesiba Nku, following reports that they are set to leave the club.

The Betway Premiership team traveled to Polokwane for their CAF Confederation Cup match against AS Otoho without the two players. It has been reported that both Nku and Mojela have been instructed to train away from the main squad, leading to speculation that the situation may be related to disciplinary issues.

Mojela is in his second season with the club after arriving from TS Galaxy at the start of the 2024/25 season. Nku, meanwhile, joined Stellenbosch in January 2025, following a brief period at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's match, Barker emphasized that the team's focus is entirely on the Group C fixture.

“I think I will leave that for another occasion,” he said, when asked about the reports concerning the two players.

“Our concentration is fully on the CAF Competition, which is a totally different Competition. We need to focus and make sure that tomorrow we put in a performance that can give us a good start to the campaign.”

“We are excited, coming off a good campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup last season. We have always aimed at making our mark and putting our footprint on the continent.”

“Therefore, we have to look forward to these occasions. We understand how challenging it is to advance past the group stage. The importance of winning home matches. They have earned the right to be here in the group stages, which shows that they are a good team.”

“They have a number of players in the national team. So we are expecting a difficult match. It’s never an easy match in these group stages and we are aware of that. But we have had good preparations, and we work really hard to improve certain areas that we feel we need to improve as a club.”
