The match between Bastia and Le Mans was abandoned in stoppage time after flares and firecrackers were thrown onto the pitch, with an official ruling to follow.

According to L'Équipe, referee Ruddy Buquet sent the 22 players to the dressing rooms during added time after further projectiles were hurled, and the game was then called off.

Le Mans were leading 2-0 when play was halted, so their promotion to Ligue 1 is on hold. They are second in the table on paper.

It is the second such incident involving Bastia this season. Less than six months ago at Armand-Cesari, a similar situation forced the stoppage of their match against Red Star.

On 5 December, a flare thrown from the Bastia end landed on the back of Red Star player Bradley Danger shortly before the hour. Bastia lost that game by forfeit, with the score 0-0 at the time, and also received a suspended one-point deduction.
