Augsburg earned an excellent comeback victory at Eintracht Frankfurt, with Manuel Baum and Arijon Ibrahimović praising a united display that sent the club top of the Bundesliga for the first time in their history.
According to BuLi News, the 20-year-old Bayern loanee shone on his Augsburg debut, playing a decisive part in two goals scored less than two minutes apart soon after the restart.
Ibrahimović said celebrating with the travelling fans felt superb and that it hardly gets better. He felt the overall performance was brilliant, even if the first half fell short, and noted the squad’s togetherness has been clear since his arrival a few days ago.
Baum admitted Augsburg made a poor start and credited goalkeeper Finn Dahmen for ensuring they trailed only 1-0 at the interval. He said his side were too timid before the break and that Frankfurt created several chances.
The head coach added there was some luck in the quickfire goals but stressed the key was belief. He highlighted the impact of the substitutes and said that resilience and depth define this team.
