Kicker reports that following the injury to Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Mark Flekken, they are considering making a move for a new number one.
The three goalkeepers of interest to Leverkusen are Chelsea’s second choice, Filip Jörgensen, Manchester City backups, James Trafford and Stefan Ortega.
Jörgensen is open to a move abroad, while Trafford is more interested in staying in the Premier League.
While Ortega’s contract at the Ethiad expires in the summer, meaning he could be allowed to leave in this window for a small fee, even a free transfer, especially as he is the third choice. The former Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the BayArena in the past, while he would also help with Champions League registration rules.
Flekken was subbed off in the 60th minute with what has since been diagnosed as a knee injury in die Werkself’s 1-0 loss to Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Backup goalkeeper Janis Blaswich replaced him and will be the number one for now, unless Leverkusen decide to act in this window.
