Earlier this month, Robert Andrich told Bild that he was open to staying at Bayer Leverkusen and fighting for his place.
“As long as nobody kicks me out or I feel that I need to do something new, I won’t push for a transfer,” Andrich told the German tabloid.
However, a departure now appears likely, with Kicker reporting that Andrich has been advised by Leverkusen to find a new club before the transfer window closes.
According to the German publication, Andrich has been told that his prospects of regular playing time under new Leverkusen head coach Carles Martínez are limited.
The report adds that the 31-year-old could be open to a move abroad after five years at Leverkusen.
Eintracht Frankfurt were linked with Andrich earlier in the transfer window.
