Bayer Leverkusen ‘reach verbal agreement’ to sign Moussa Diaby

Bayer Leverkusen have reached a verbal agreement with Al-Ittihad to sign Moussa Diaby for around €30m, Sky Germany and Kicker report.

Diaby, 27, has agreed a five-year contract through to June 2031, with a medical to follow.

The winger previously represented Leverkusen from 2019 to 2023, before a €55m move to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

After a single season at Villa Park, he joined Al-Ittihad and has spent the last two seasons there. He made 56 league appearances, scoring nine goals and supplying 21 assists.

Across his first Leverkusen stint he registered 49 goals and 47 assists in 172 matches. His return comes as the club rebuild their squad under new head coach Carles Martínez Novell.
