Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of 17-year-old forward Aleksa Damjanovic from Crvena Zvezda, with the move to be completed in the summer, the club said in a statement.

Leverkusen did not disclose the contract length, confirming only a long-term agreement.

Managing director for sport Simon Rolfes described Damjanovic as one of Europe’s most promising forward talents and praised his eagerness to learn and hunger for success.

Damjanovic called it a fantastic opportunity to develop at a top club, adding that the timing is right to move abroad and that he is highly motivated to establish himself at Leverkusen.

He has featured seven times for Crvena Zvezda’s first team.
