Bayern and Dortmund among reported suitors for Köln wonderkid El Mala | OneFootball

Said El Mala stole the show in his first start for 1. FC Köln last Friday, scoring a fantastic solo winner in his team’s 1–0 victory over TSG Hoffenheim and earning himself a place in Bulinews’ Team of the Week.

According to Sky Germany, the talented attacking player is already in high demand, with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and several clubs from abroad showing interest.

Dortmund reportedly inquired about El Mala even before his move from Viktoria Köln to 1. FC Köln last year, while Bayern are said to be pursuing the youngster intensively and have already approached both the player’s representatives and the Billy Goats to declare their interest.

However, 1. FC Köln have decided that El Mala will not be sold this winter under any circumstances, according to local outlet Express, who reports that even an offer of €40 million would not be enough to persuade the club into selling during the upcoming transfer window.

Reports have suggested that Köln turned down a bid of around €15 million from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer.

With the German U21 international under contract until 2030 and no release clause in place, Köln are under no pressure to sell.

Besides, according to the Express, El Mala himself is not currently considering a move, preferring instead to establish himself in the Bundesliga before taking the next step.
