Michael Olise has long been one of FC Bayern’s most sought-after players. Real Madrid and Liverpool FC are repeatedly linked to the French attacking star. However, sporting director Max Eberl has now made it clear that the Munich club has no interest whatsoever in letting their star player go—regardless of any potential mega-offers.

Olise is under contract with the German record champions through 2029 and, according to Eberl, does not have a buyout clause. This puts Bayern in an extremely comfortable negotiating position.

When asked at what transfer fee the Munich club would consider selling the 24-year-old, Eberl responded with an unequivocal statement. “If you want to win the Champions League, that question doesn’t even come up. That’s the beauty of FC Bayern Munich: You don’t have to waver, no matter what the amount is,” he emphasized in an interview with Sport BILD.

With this, the Bayern boss is sending a clear signal to potential suitors. Olise is not to be sold for profit, but is to remain one of the key figures in the club’s quest for the Champions League title.

Eberl raves about Olise’s development

Given his development, it’s hardly surprising that Munich is planning for the long term with Olise. Since his transfer from Crystal Palace, the French international has emerged as one of the most important offensive players under Vincent Kompany.

Eberl is also enthusiastic about this development: “Michael has made extraordinary progress with us. We will certainly sit down at the appropriate time to discuss how to proceed.”

Although his current contract still has three years remaining, Bayern is already considering a possible extension. In doing so, Eberl also dispelled speculation about an existing buyout clause. “He still has a three-year contract—and I want to emphasize: without a buyout clause. Let me put it this way: By next summer, we should know whether he’s inclined to extend his contract or not.”

This also marks a crucial period for the Frenchman’s future. Bayern is by no means under pressure to sell him at the moment, but apparently wants to have clarity by next summer on whether Olise wishes to extend his contract long-term.

Bayern wants to secure Olise’s long-term commitment

Liverpool and Real Madrid, in particular, are likely to be following developments closely. Both clubs have repeatedly been mentioned as potential suitors in recent reports. However, Bayern has not received any concrete offers for Olise.

Eberl’s statements make it clear anyway that even an exceptionally high offer would not automatically lead to a change of heart at this point. For the Munich club, on-field success is the top priority.

Olise plays a key role in this. With his creativity, goals, and assists, the left-footed player has added an extra dimension to Bayern’s offense under Kompany. Following his outstanding performance last season, the Frenchman is now even considered one of the top contenders for the Ballon d’Or.

These are exactly the kinds of players Bayern doesn’t want to sell. The record champions have set their sights on winning the Champions League again in the coming years. From Eberl’s perspective, that will require players like Olise.
