Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has backed Harry Kane to win this year's Ballon d'Or. The striker's 2025/26 featured a Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double and a Champions League semi-final.

According to BuLi News, Hainer cited Kane's 60 goals across the Bundesliga, Pokal and Champions League and described his World Cup as very good. He added that he did not know what more a player must do to claim the prize.

It was the most successful season of Kane's Bayern career.

Asked about Lamine Yamal having spoken about his own chances, Hainer acknowledged the Barcelona youngster's quality and bright future, yet maintained that Kane's overall body of work last season sets him apart.

Kane is among the leading contenders, with the Ballon d'Or ceremony scheduled in London on 26 October.
