According to L'Équipe, Bayern Munich have joined Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig in expressing interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye, with several English clubs also tracking him.
The Bundesliga trio have been monitoring the Senegal international since July.
Leverkusen submitted an offer, and Fabrizio Romano reported an agreement with PSG was close. Since then, French media have said PSG rejected that bid, and Leverkusen have turned attention to Moussa Diaby.
L'Équipe adds that the strongest leads currently point to Liverpool and Dortmund.
Whether Mbaye remains a concrete target for BVB is likely to hinge on whether they can sign 1.FC Köln's Said El Mala. At the same time, Liverpool are working on a deal for Mbaye's team-mate Bradley Barcola, who was previously on Bayern's shortlist.
