Bayern Munich confirm new Upamecano contract to 2030

Bayern Munich have confirmed Dayot Upamecano has signed a new long-term contract running until 2030, the club said in a statement.
The French defender joined from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said Upamecano had matured into a top-level player at Bayern and that his decision to extend underlined the club's status in international football. He added the defender's clear commitment sent a strong message for their sporting course and for togetherness within the team and the club.
Upamecano said he was really happy to stay and keep playing in this team, praising a great group and coach. He spoke of big shared goals, stressing mentality, giving his all in every training session, aiming for a clean sheet in every game and wanting to win as many titles as possible with Bayern.
He has made 180 appearances for Bayern, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists.
