Bayern Munich urged to sign Barcelona star in 2027: “He would make them a better team” | OneFootball

2027 should be another busy year for Barcelona on the transfer front, especially when considering possible departures. The club’s expected exit from La Liga’s 1:1 rule means that sales will be needed in order for signings to come in, and there are several candidates that have been identified in this regard.

Alejandro Balde is currently the most likely to leave, with him having fallen down to third in the left-back pecking order. Jules Kounde is also an option, while Barcelona hope to finally get rid of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who will leave regardless in 2028 when his contract expires.

There is another player that could depart next summer, and it would be the most valuable of all: Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch midfielder is no longer going to be a regular starter following the arrival of Rodri, and this has led to speculation that he could be on the move, with a number of Premier League clubs keen on his services.

However, Dutch football icon Rafael van de Vaart has instead suggested that Bayern Munich try to sign De Jong as a successor for Joshua Kimmich, as per BILD (via Sport).

Barcelona could be hoping for De Jong sale in 2027

Given that De Jong’s contract expires in 2029, next summer would be the best chance for Barcelona to receive a top price for selling him. There is bound to be a lot of interest in his services, and given that Hansi Flick has Rodri, Pedri, Gavi and Marc Bernal at his disposal, it makes a lot of sense to try moving him on.

The problem would be if De Jong chooses to stay, as he did in 2022 when Manchester United came calling. He’s under no obligation to leave, although he could decide to embark on a new challenge if his minutes are limited over the course of the 2026-27 season.
