Bayern Munich have not given up on their chase to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi

The 25-year-old centre-back has a contract at Selhurst Park until the end of the season, and he will be available on a free transfer.

Guehi has been outstanding for the Eagles this season, and he prefers to stay at the club for the rest of the season and assess his future next summer.

Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for the England international in recent weeks, and they still retain an interest in him.

The main focus has always been securing Dayot Upamecano’s contract extension, and Bayern have finally reached an agreement with the Frenchman.

The Bavarian giants, however, could still move for Guehi, considering that he will be available for free next summer, but they are likely to face competition from Liverpool and Manchester City.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg recently reported that Max Eberl has made contact with Guehi’s camp regarding a potential move.

According to my information, Bayern have no plans to sign a new centre-back in January.

However, the situation could change if Kim Min-jae leaves the club, and in that case, they will need a replacement.

Marc Guehi could leave Palace in January

As of now, Bayern have shown no desire to sell Min-jae. The South Korean has a contract until 2028, and he is happy with the role at the moment.

The 29-year-old has made six starts in the Bundesliga, and a further three appearances have come from the bench. He wants to get 100% fit and compete for a regular starting place.

At the moment, Vincent Kompany has used him very well, but if he does not get enough opportunities, he will rethink his future.

That is why Bayern still have Guehi on their radar, but the defender could leave Palace this month, with Man City vying for his signature.

Pep Guardiola’s side are missing Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones due to injury, and they are ready to make a move for Guehi now rather than wait for him next summer.

Guehi was close to joining Liverpool during the summer window, and the move only collapsed in the eleventh hour.

The Reds are still interested in signing him, as they could lose Ibrahima Konate for nothing next summer with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
