Aston Villa could be encouraged over Joao Palhinha after Bayern Munich signalled plans to move the midfielder on this summer, along with full-back Sacha Boey.
“They’re training with us, but they won’t play an important role here. I know they’re aware of that,” said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund, speaking to Abendzeitung, in reference to Vincent Kompany’s squad.

“They’re both good players. They’ll continue to train and play here for now, but the plan is for them to take the next step somewhere else.”
Palhinha, formerly of Fulham, spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur. He also featured in a friendly against Wehen Wiesbaden.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Villa Park.
