Bayern ‘to prioritise’ Harry Kane extension amid Erling Haaland links

According to Bild, Bayern Munich are prioritising a new contract for Harry Kane rather than pursuing Erling Haaland. This comes despite suggestions they are monitoring the Manchester City striker amid the Premier League’s ongoing disciplinary case against the club.

Recent links hinged on the possibility that the case’s outcome could make the Norwegian available. The focus remains on internal business instead.

Talks aim to extend Kane’s deal beyond 2027, which would leave Bayern already stocked at centre-forward if completed.

Even in a scenario where Haaland became a free agent because of that case, Bayern would still face a major signing-on fee and very high wages.

Haaland is on about €35 million a year, a bracket Bayern do not usually operate in.

Bayern are still observing the situation and admire Haaland, as clubs across Europe do, but their satisfaction with Kane leaves no space on the pitch or on the wage bill.
