FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their personnel planning. Following Serge Gnabry’s contract extension and the imminent agreement with Dayot Upamecano, the focus is now shifting to the next key player: Harry Kane. The England international striker is a central figure at the record champions, both in sporting and strategic terms – and the Munich club are treating his future with corresponding sensitivity
Ahead of the DFB Cup tie against RB Leipzig, sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the club is already in talks with Kane. However, the 52-year-old deliberately did not want to talk about concrete contract negotiations. „We are talking, but that does not mean that negotiations have started,“ Eberl clarified. Rather, it is currently an intensive exchange in which positions are being defined and expectations formulated. The next steps will only follow when the right time has come
The situation surrounding the 32-year-old thus remains deliberately open. While, according to CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, only the formal conclusion is still pending for Upamecano, the process is much earlier for Kane. This is not surprising, as the striker carries particular weight at FC Bayern not only in sporting terms, but also financially and strategically

Kane feels at home in Munich, has quickly established himself as a leading player and consistently delivers at the highest level on the pitch. Nevertheless, the speculation surrounding his future shows no sign of abating. A contractually fixed exit clause in particular is currently causing a stir. According to information from kicker, this is between 60 and 70 million euros. The end of January was long considered the deadline by which Kane could have exercised this option. However, the trade magazine now reports that this deadline has apparently been extended to the end of February
This makes the situation even more explosive, as the clause also increases the interest of potential buyers. According to kicker, several Premier League clubs have already enquired with the striker’s management. Although no specific names are mentioned, the origin of the inquiries alone underlines how highly Kane continues to be traded on the international market
Potential offers from Saudi Arabia could be even more lucrative. According to the report, at least one club from the Saudi Pro League is preparing a „highly lucrative offer“ for the Bayern striker. It remains to be seen whether this will be relevant for next summer or only in the future. What is clear, however, is that Kane fits perfectly into the profile of the league, which wants to further underpin its sporting and media ambitions with prominent names
When asked about the latest rumors, however, Eberl was calm and explained that „you can’t influence things from the outside“
At Säbener Straße, they are keeping a close eye on these developments without allowing themselves to drift. FC Bayern would like to extend Kane’s contract, ideally before the 2026 World Cup – but not at any price and not under time pressure. The fact that Eberl is deliberately dampening expectations is part of this strategy. Munich want planning security – and Kane also knows how important he is to the record champions
The coming weeks are therefore likely to be decisive. Whether the intensive exchange will actually result in concrete contract talks depends on several factors. One thing is certain: Bayern want to keep Kane. But the competition is not sleeping – and the exit clause ensures that his future remains one of the most exciting topics at Säbener Straße for the time being.
