Bayern’s Friendly Against Aston Villa: Two Bayern Stars Are Out | OneFootball

FC Bayern will be without two stars for their friendly against Aston Villa. Joshua Kimmich and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye are out.

Following their 2-1 victory over Jeju SK, FC Bayern will face Premier League side Aston Villa to wrap up their Asian tour. For the match in Hong Kong, however, coach Vincent Kompany will have to do without two star players.

Joshua Kimmich will not play against the Europa League champions due to adductor problems. Youngster Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is also out. He took a blow to the knee in the last game against Jeju SK (2-1) and is now sidelined with a bruise.

Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, announced both developments during a pre-match press conference.

Regarding Kimmich, he said: “He has minor adductor issues that he’s been dealing with for a while. We’ve decided there’s no need to make a big deal out of it right now. The important games are still to come.”

Bayern’s first competitive match of the season is just about two weeks away: the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup on August 22 against Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern’s Bara deal nears completion

Midfielder Bara is already taking part in Munich’s Asian tour, even though he hasn’t signed his contract with the German record champions yet. His transfer from the Gambinos Stars in Gambia to FCB isn’t finalized yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

Eberl commented on the reasons for the delay: “It’s because we need to exchange the documents. Once they’re signed, we’ll make an official announcement.”

Against Aston Villa, Bayern will be missing not only Kimmich and Bara: Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano are still on special leave following their participation in the World Cup and will not rejoin the team until after the Asian tour.

In addition, the injured Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Alphonso Davies, Lennart Karl, and Ismael Saibari remained at home and are working on their recovery at Säbener Straße.
