Marc Cucurella is in the conversation with Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo as one of Chelsea’s best players according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

Chelsea made it three wins and three clean sheets in a row with a 2-0 win at Turf Moor to move second in the Premier League.

Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez scored the goals to earn the Blues their first win in a huge eight days for the club, with games against Barcelona and Arsenal next week.

Marc Cucurella so important to Chelsea

As has been the case this season Enzo Maresca once again made changes to the starting line-up, but Cucurella was again named in the team.

The Spaniard has established himself as one of Chelsea’s top performers, and put in another impressive display on Saturday.

Chelsea have certainly improved defensively, and Cucurella is a big part of that, and Kinsella has claimed the 27-year-old is in the conversation with Caicedo and Palmer as one of Chelsea’s best players.

His transformation at Chelsea has been remarkable given he was booed by supporters in his first season at the club, and he’s the classic example of the importance of not writing players off too quickly.

Cucurella is believed to have signed a new contract at Chelsea, although there’s yet to be any official confirmation from the club.

Jorrel Hato couldn’t be learning from anyone better

The Blues addressed the lack of back-up in the squad to Cucurella by signing Jorrel Hato from Ajax in the summer.

The 19-year-old has played at both left back and centre back this season, but he’s still very young and his opportunities will come throughout the season.

However, the Dutch international would struggle to find many better to learn from than Cucurella, and he’s surely learning a lot from the Spain international on a daily basis in training.
