Manchester United have informed all suitors that they’re not willing to entertain any offers for Bruno Fernandes this summer.

The Portuguese playmaker has arguably been the Red Devils’ most influential player since joining the club in January 2020.

At the age of 31, the Portuguese international continues to grow from strength to strength and attract interest from all over the globe.

Man Utd tell Galatasaray Bruno Fernandes is not for sale

This summer, some of the biggest stars in football have joined Turkiye’s Super Lig, as the country’s biggest clubs are evidently happy to splash the cash.

Mohamed Salah made a surprising move to Trabzonspor, joining Man Utd loanee, Andre Onana, while former Red striker Romelu Lukaku signed for Fenerbahce, and Dusan Vlahovic bolstered Besiktas’ ranks.

Therefore, Galatasaray might be sensing the urge to respond to their rivals by pulling off their own marquee signing.

According to BBC journalist Simon Stone, the reigning Turkish champions were plotting an ambitious onslaught for Fernandes.

Galatasaray were willing to offer Man Utd €50 million (circa £43 million). However, the Premier League giants didn’t budge, making it clear that their captain is not for sale.

Stone adds that Juventus and Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan had also enquired about the midfielder, but received a similar answer.

As the source explains, Fernandes was ‘hurt’ by INEOS last summer when they showed openness to sell him to Al-Hilal, who offered them a transfer fee of €100 million.

At the time, the Man Utd officials left the decision in the player’s hands. But despite being offered a total salary of €200 million for three years, the Portuguese star chose to resist the Saudi cash.

Keeping Bruno is the best choice for Man United

In the current day and age, £43 million would only land the club a decent but certainly not top-class midfielder, as Man Utd discovered this summer.

Therefore, it certainly isn’t worth losing the services of the club’s most impactful player and the Premier League’s Player of the Season for 2025/26.

While INEOS didn’t mind cashing in on Fernandes last summer, they must have felt they dodged a bullet when he guided them back to the Champions League with his record-breaking assist tally.

So even with his contract expiring next year, Man Utd should try to keep their skipper in Carrington at all costs.
