The BBC aired an incorrect on-screen line-up for France before France-Sénégal. According to L'Équipe, Jules Koundé was shown as Ibrahima Konaté and Dayot Upamecano appeared twice.

The names on the graphic were accurate, but the faces were not. Upamecano featured in his own position and again where William Saliba should have been. France later beat Senegal 3-1.

The mistake came ahead of Tuesday's World Cup tie. The public broadcaster's tournament coverage has already faced criticism in the UK, including from Gary Lineker, who said it lacked soul.

The channel has also been faulted for not basing its studio in the United States.

This was France's opening match at the World Cup.
