Bednarek expected to start alongside Kiwior | OneFootball

FC Porto open their I Liga title defence at home to Alverca on Sunday, with Bednarek expected to partner Kiwior at centre-back.

According to O Jogo, the defender has recovered from a right knee strain suffered in the Supertaça, has trained without limitations, and is in line to start.

Alberto Costa remains restricted and was not called up, with Martim Fernandes set to take his place in the XI. The squad also includes young winger Duarte Cunha.

Oskar Piwtuszewski is dealing with a right thigh muscle injury and is expected to be out for three weeks. He will miss the Alverca and Rio Ave games and is a doubt for the trip to Arouca. Samu, Vasco Sousa, Cláudio Ramos and André Miranda are also sidelined.
