Ben Godfrey's future at Sheffield United is uncertain going into the January window
Ben Godfrey has posted a cryptic message to his personal Instagram page amid speculation surrounding a departure from Sheffield United in January.
It was exclusively revealed by FLW last month that the Blades are considering early exits for the likes of Godfrey, Louie Barry and Tyler Bindon, who are all currently on loan at the club.
The three players were all signed on a temporary basis during the summer, with Ruben Selles in charge of the first team squad.
The Spaniard lasted just five league games in charge before being dismissed, having lost all five matches, leading to Chris Wilder’s return.
Godfrey arrived from Italian side Atalanta, but he has struggled for game time with Sheffield United so far this season.

Godfrey has posted an image of himself in official Atalanta training gear as a story on his official Instagram page, as the January transfer window approaches.
The defender is potentially hinting at a winter return to Bergamo, having earned limited game time at Bramall Lane this term.
Godfrey has played just four times for Sheffield United since arriving in the summer, and that lack of game time could lead to him cutting his loan move short when the market opens in the new year.
The 27-year-old’s last appearance for the club came on 20 September, playing 66 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Charlton Athletic.
That was Wilder’s first game back in charge after he replaced Selles, and it’s likely that will be his only appearance under the 58-year-old unless something significant changes.
Barry and Bindon have both featured a handful of times more for the Blades this season, making nine and six appearances respectively amid speculation they too could be departing the Yorkshire outfit in January.
Sheffield United are 18th in the Championship, and will face Birmingham City on 20 December in a 3pm kick-off.

Godfrey is clearly not part of Wilder’s plans, so his exit back to Atalanta makes the most sense for both parties.
The defender is taking up a valuable spot in the squad that isn’t being used, so Wilder will be keen to take that place back and bring in somebody that will contribute to his team.
Godfrey was a potentially impactful arrival, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations whatsoever, with the Blades losing in all four of his appearances.
It’s a massively disappointing outcome, but Sheffield United haven’t lost out too much as the cost of a loan deal is significantly smaller than if he had been signed on a permanent basis.
