Sheffield United's Gus Hamer is on the radar of Trabzonspor, although it remains to be seen if they can afford the attacking midfielder.
Sheffield United are set for a huge summer transfer window as they look to back Chris Wilder as he seeks another promotion with his boyhood club.
With the Blades not in a position to spend like some Championship rivals, many fans knew some tough decisions would be made this summer.
However, Andre Brooks’ switch to Norwich City came out of the blue, and it remains to be seen who else departs Bramall Lane to help fund what is likely to be a big rebuild by Wilder.

If Brooks’ sale was unexpected, it’s fair to say that fans wouldn’t be too surprised if Gus Hamer had already played his last game for the club.
The 29-year-old has been influential for the Yorkshire outfit since his arrival from Coventry City, and whilst he wasn’t at his best last season, he still managed five goals and 12 assists.
Yet, with Hamer’s contract expiring in 2027, Sheffield United know this is the last chance to get a decent fee for the player, who could leave on a free in 12 months time.
As a result, clubs are circling, and it has been claimed for some time that Trabzonspor are huge admirers of the player.
The chance to move to Turkey may appeal, particularly as Trabzonspor are in Europe, but it remains to be seen if they can meet the financial demands that the Blades may have.
When quizzed by FLW about the prospect of losing Hamer, Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy from the Blades Ramble YouTube channel admitted he does expect a sale, but he explained how he hopes Premier League interest could drive the price, with fears clubs will try and take advantage of the situation to sign him for a low fee.
“Hamer has just turned 29, so I believe he has got one big move left in him, or certainly one big contract. So, when he gets to this stage, with one year left, he knows he can wait it out and potentially command a big personal fee, or where we’re going to have to sell him relatively cheaply, and not in line with his actual value.
“Clubs will be aware of that, and they would look to offset that transfer fee with a big sign-on fee for Hamer, so I think there’s a big chance he goes this summer, to be honest.
“Trabzonspor can potentially offer him European football, and I’m not sure if that’s something he can pass up, I think he would certainly have an interest.

“There are family ties to Sheffield, and also alleged interest from the Premier League, with Hull and Coventry, which he wouldn’t necessarily have to move to play for either club.
“I expect Hamer to move on, and hopefully the fact there are numerous clubs interested, it could force the price up a little bit.”
Obviously, with Hamer entering the final year of his contract, Sheffield United are in a vulnerable position, and most would agree that an exit does feel highly likely this summer.
Despite that, it doesn’t mean they should be bullied in negotiations, as if a suitable offer doesn’t arrive, it would be worth keeping Hamer and losing him on a free if he can help a promotion push.
With Trabzonspor’s record transfer arrival around £7m, it would be a big ask for them to pay what Sheffield United will want, which you would expect to be around that figure, at the very least.
The financial aspect of a deal would not be an issue for a Premier League club, so you can understand why the Blades may be hoping for a bidding war.
So, it will be interesting to see how it plays out, but the recruitment team at Sheffield United must have plans in place to replace the goals and assists that Hamer brings.
With Brooks having also gone, a massive summer window awaits, and the Blades fans will be hoping for some positive noise in terms of incomings.
