Benfica could open their Europa League second qualifying round with a strong Seixal contingent, as preparations for the new season begin amid coaching and market uncertainty.
According to Correio da Manhã, the ties are set for 23 and 30 July. With no Champions League participation, finances are tighter and significant sales will be required before decisive recruitment.
The market is likely to move more intensely only after the 2026 World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.
In that scenario, Benfica may start the campaign with several options promoted directly from Seixal, with belief internally that there is enough quality to handle the opening demands.
Those pushing their case include full backs Daniel Banjaqui and José Neto, striker Anísio Cabral, winger Rodrigo Rêgo and attacking midfielder Gonçalo Moreira.
Even so, the second qualifying round draw could influence the approach. Should Benfica face tougher opponents, such as Dínamo Kiev, Besiktas or Twente, the board may accelerate incoming business.
