For a week now, the case involving Gianluca Prestianni and Vinícius Jr has continued to make headlines.
While he is provisionally suspended by UEFA, Gianluca Prestianni will miss the second leg of the Champions League play-off against Real Madrid tomorrow night. He is accused of having made a racist insult towards the Brazilian during the first leg. The 1.65m tall Argentine is reportedly preparing his defense by explaining he was reacting to taunts about his height.
In fact, according to information from The Times, Prestianni claims he was called a "dwarf" or a "midget" before responding with a homophobic slur. With an investigation underway, Prestianni faces a potential suspension of up to ten matches.
