Benfica had an offer of eight million euros for Zuriko Davitashvili rejected by a Ligue 2 club, according to GeoTeam. The Georgia international is a team-mate of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Benfica targeted the left winger as a potential attacking addition, but their first approach fell short. The French side are holding firm in negotiations and believe the player could attract a higher fee.

Everton are also monitoring the situation, a factor that could drive the price up.

Last summer, Fenerbahçe, then coached by José Mourinho, and Besiktas had already expressed interest in the 24-year-old.

This season with Saint-Étienne, Davitashvili has made 17 appearances, 16 in Ligue 2 and one in the Coupe de France. Across 1,252 minutes he has scored nine goals and provided one assist.
