Benfica are not prioritising Otamendi's contract renewal at present, and the matter is not considered urgent by either side. According to Glorioso 1904, the hierarchy are aware of his situation but see no need to accelerate talks.

The captain is into the final six months of a deal that runs until the summer of 2026. The set-up, led by Rui Costa, are confident the Argentine's focus will not shift in the near term.
