Benfica open talks for Issa Doumbia as Venezia set 15 million euros threshold | OneFootball

Benfica have begun negotiations with Venezia for Issa Doumbia, 22, and the midfielder has reacted positively to the prospect of joining the club. According to Glorioso 1904, the two sides met recently to discuss a possible agreement.

Venezia will only consider a sale from 15 million euros, and no loan is on the table. With stable finances and other clubs watching, the Serie A side are under no pressure to sell, making negotiations demanding for Benfica.

Also tracked by Sporting, Doumbia views a switch to Portugal positively and has sought information about the club.

Even so, his future remains undecided. He believes it may be time for the next step, but he is not willing to force an exit from Venezia, with whom he has a long-term contract and who recently returned to Serie A.

This season he has played 37 matches for Venezia, totalling 3,099 minutes, with nine goals and five assists. He is valued at 8 million euros.
