Benfica head of security Paulo Magalhães has been fined 570 euros following a confrontation with Porto supporters during Sunday’s Clássico at Estádio do Dragão, which Porto won 3-1.

According to Glorioso 1904, the incident unfolded in the access tunnel near the end. A match delegate’s report stated Magalhães entered the area in the 87th minute and reacted to abuse from the home stands with language considered inappropriate for his role.

Home fans had hurled insults towards him and he responded that it would be with his hands behind his back, telling one supporter he would gnaw the fan’s ears.

The delegate intervened immediately, instructing him to stop and leave. Several requests were needed before he complied, and he returned to the dressing-room zone in the 92nd minute.

The disciplinary body issued the sanction for failing to observe other duties, judging that his reaction went beyond what is expected of a club official despite the insults received.
