Benfica have added Fikayo Tomori to their centre-back shortlist after António Silva’s exit, with salary expectations already a concern as they assess options.
According to Glorioso 1904, the club are understood to have requested information on the 28-year-old Milan defender, and Ruben Amorim is said to have told him to seek a new club.
Benfica have made initial contact with his representatives in recent days to gauge terms, but his wages are considered too high and could hinder a move to the Luz. Rui Costa has already confirmed the intention to reinforce the position.
Tomori follows recent links to Taylor Harwood-Bellis of Southampton and Tosin Adarabioyo of Chelsea as options to bolster Marco Silva’s back line.
Competition is likely to make any deal for Tomori particularly tricky. A return to England could gain traction, given his familiarity with the league.
