Benfica rejected a January 2025 proposal from Juventus for António Silva, a five million euros loan with a 30 million option to buy.

Record writes that the defender could be sold in the summer window and that Benfica have lowered their asking price, accepting it will be difficult to match that earlier valuation.

The 22-year-old has been in the first team since 2022 and holds a significant role, being among the squad’s captains.

Rui Costa’s board have tabled a new contract, though talks are proving difficult. A stay is not ruled out, but it hinges on the club meeting the player’s terms.

Benfica may also lose Nicolás Otamendi, as the captain’s deal expires in the summer. Any exit for both would pose a major test for the defence and necessitate reinforcements.

This season António Silva, valued at 28 million euros, has made 35 appearances and logged 2,655 minutes, 19 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. He has scored one goal.
