Benfica v Braga to be played Monday at 20:15 in penultimate round | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, the penultimate round of the Liga Portugal Betclic has been scheduled, with seven of nine fixtures to kick off on Monday at 20:15, including Benfica v Braga.

The exceptions are AVS v Porto and Alverca v Estoril, both on Sunday, at 18:00 and 20:30 respectively. These matches do not directly affect the European or relegation races, so they sit outside the unified slot.

The concentration of fixtures follows competition rules that require simultaneous kick-offs for games with direct or indirect bearing on the title, European qualification or survival.

Braga’s Europa League tie against Freiburg on the preceding Thursday also shaped the calendar. The club are entitled to a minimum 72-hour recovery window, which ruled out an earlier Sunday slot for Benfica v Braga.

The league considered splitting the round across Sunday and Monday, but the clubs failed to reach a consensus. Sporting was among those opposing, arguing for full simultaneity to avoid any competitive advantage in the run-in.
