Benfica vs Napoli – Conte hails ‘winner’ Mourinho & gives Lukaku update

Antonio Conte addressed the media ahead of Napoli’s Champions League clash with Benfica, highlighting both the challenge posed by José Mourinho and providing the latest on Romelu Lukaku’s recovery.
Speaking to Prime Video, with quotes via AlfredoPedulla.com, the Napoli coach praised his former rival: “Winning the Champions League is everyone’s dream, but we need to face reality. We are in Lisbon, in a hot stadium, against a strong team and a great coach. Mourinho? Facing him is a pleasure. He is a winner, a great man. There’s little more to add.”

Conte also sought to reassure on the squad’s unity amid recent speculation: “There have never been breaking points. There is a path to follow and a course to redefine. This Napoli is mine and I will always like it; the club and team are progressing hand in hand.”
On the fitness of Romelu Lukaku, who is set to return soon from a lengthy layoff, Conte was measured.
“I never force the issue. He is free to understand when he feels ready to rejoin the group. Then he will need to regain full condition.”
