Benfica women's goalkeeper Thaís Lima called up by Brazil

Benfica women’s goalkeeper Thaís Lima has been called up by Brazil for a run of friendlies as part of 2027 World Cup preparations.
According to Glorioso 1904, Brazil begin in Costa Rica on 27 February in Alajuela, then face Venezuela on 4 March in Toluca and Mexico on 7 March in Mexico City.
The 17-year-old previously represented Portugal at youth level 39 times up to under-19, but in October last year chose to represent Brazil.
With Benfica since 2020/21, she is a team-mate of Lena Pauels, who featured in last Sunday’s 5-1 win over Vitória de Guimarães in the 11th round of the Liga BPI.
This season she has made five competitive appearances for Benfica, two in the Liga Feminina, two in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, conceding two goals across 450 minutes.
