Benfica’s Tomás Cruz to join Bodrumspor on three-year deal in Türkiye | OneFootball

Tomás Cruz is leaving Benfica. According to Glorioso 1904, the Luxembourg midfielder, 21, will sign a three-year contract with Bodrumspor, who play in Türkiye’s second division.

The Bodrumspor squad includes figures familiar to Portuguese football, among them former Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar and the Portuguese pair Diogo Sousa, a goalkeeper, and Pedro Brazão, a forward.

The switch to Türkiye follows Cruz rejecting a chance in July to continue his career in Romania. He had the opportunity to join Dinamo Bucharest, coached by Portuguese Nuno Campos, but turned it down.

Cruz arrived at Benfica Campus in 2024 after three seasons in Hannover 96’s youth ranks. He featured 30 times for Benfica B last season as he built senior experience.

Despite his age, he already has 16 senior caps for Luxembourg. In the national team he shares a dressing room with Benfica midfielder Leandro Barreiro, as he now departs to continue his career in Türkiye.
