Benjamin Mendy finally made his Ekstraklasa debut with Pogoń Szczecin on November 9, coming on against Jagiellonia Białystok.

Having joined the club in mid-September, the French defender and former world champion had to bide his time to regain full fitness and get ready for competitive action. Coach Thomas Thomasberg gave him his chance, bringing him on in the 85th minute to replace Leonardo Koutris. This marked Mendy's first taste of official action in a "Portowcy" shirt.
Unfortunately for him and his team, his introduction did not change the course of the match, and just minutes later Jagiellonia snatched the winner courtesy of Oskar Pietuszewski.
