Hull City have completed the permanent signing of Ecuador international Óscar Zambrano from Slovenian side Maribor for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a four-year contract at the MKM Stadium, with the club holding the option to extend his stay by a further year.
Zambrano returns to Hull after a previous loan spell during the 2024/25 campaign, where he made eight appearances and scored once.
His career was temporarily interrupted by a suspension for breaching anti-doping regulations while playing for LDU Quito. Initially handed a 16-month ban by CONMEBOL, it was later reduced to 12 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, allowing him to return to action with Maribor last November.
After an injury-hit spell in Slovenia, Hull have moved to bring the Ecuadorian back permanently as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
