Benjamin Mendy has sold his replica of the 2018 World Cup trophy at a Goldin auction, fetching about €54,000.
According to L'Équipe, the lot formed part of the Global Football Auction Part 2 run by US collectibles house Goldin, which closed on 25 July.
The piece was listed as damaged, with a crack at the base and light wear. The buyer received a certificate signed by Mendy, who has played for Marseille, Monaco and Manchester City, as proof of authenticity.
Mendy has been with Pogon Szczecin since September 2025 and recently extended his contract in Poland by one year.
The former France international, capped 10 times, faced complaints in 2021 comprising 10 charges of rape and attempted rape from seven women. He was found not guilty between January and July 2023.
