Benjamin Sesko: Man United star builds perfect striker

Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko has enjoyed a strong first season in England.

The Slovenian joined last summer from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £66.3 million.

He started slowly, scoring just two goals before Christmas, but came to life in 2026, finishing the season with 12 goals in all competitions.

This is even more impressive as, under Michael Carrick, he has often been used as a bench striker but went on a run of scoring crucial goals to earn valuable points. This included a run of nine goals in 14 matches before he picked up an injury against Liverpool and subsequently missed the last three matches of the season.

Sesko’s Slovenia did not qualify for the World Cup, so he will now enjoy a summer break and be back nice and early for pre-season to try and consolidate his place in United’s first eleven from the very start of next season.

Perfect striker

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, he was asked to create his perfect Manchester United striker.

When asked about right-footed ability, he chose Cristiano Ronaldo, and then when he had to choose a left-footer, he went for Robin van Persie. Two excellent finishers who were crucial in different league-winning campaigns.

Sesko was then asked about which striker he would choose to copy for their finishing level; it would be the one and only Ruud van Nistelrooy, who smashed in 150 goals for the club in just five seasons.

The Slovenian then selected Dimitar Berbatov as the player with the silkiest skills and decided his perfect United striker would possess the Bulgarian’s first touch.

Finally, when asked to choose for pace, he went for United’s all-time leading goalscorer, Wayne Rooney, and when it came to strength, he looked no further than the magical Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Interestingly, when asked to choose a celebration, he selected his own “Air Sesko” celebration, where he shows off his impressive leap.
