In the Blues' eleven in the Conference League final against Real Betis on Wednesday evening, the central defender trained at AS Monaco won his first major career trophy, at the end of a crazy second half (4-1).
He has just won the first major title of his young career! A pure product of the La Diagonale academy and having featured in 135 matches with the Rouge et Blanc (6 goals, 3 assists) after starting in Ligue 1 at 17 years old, Benoît Badiashile has just won the Europa Conférence League with Chelsea. The French central defender, a starter in the final against Real Betis emerged victorious from this duel (4-1).
Having joined the London club in January 2023, he has established himself in the squad of the two-time Champions League winners (2012, 2021). He eventually reached a European final on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, and was ultimately crowned victorious in what was his 53rd match for the Blues. And yet, things got off to a rather poor start, as the Spaniards opened the scoring early (7′).
That was without counting on a response from Enzo Maresca’s men, as the Londoners waited until the hour mark before finally scoring four goals in less than 30 minutes, through Fernandez (65′), Jackson (71′), Sancho (83′), and Caicedo (91′). It was four goals in a stunning victory, and a first title for Benoît Badiashile, who started the competition throughout (11 matches)!
After the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League, Chelsea has also became the first club to win all four European competitions. Good work Benoît!👏
