Besiktas have stepped up their pursuit of Vangelis Pavlidis, with a significant proposal under consideration by Benfica.
According to A BOLA, the Istanbul club could go as high as 40 million euros for the 27-year-old and would almost double his current salary in Lisbon.
Pavlidis is contracted to Benfica until 2029, with a release clause set at 100 million euros.
Signed from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024, the Greece international ended each of the past two seasons as Benfica’s top scorer, reinforcing his status as one of their most valuable assets.
In 2025/26 he made 53 appearances, including 33 in the league and 14 in the Champions League, totalling 4,244 minutes. He scored 30 goals and provided five assists, and is valued at 28 million euros.
Pavlidis has also indicated on several occasions that finances have not been decisive in his career choices.
