The Juventus Women’s First Team kicked off their pre-season with a win, seeing off Servette 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Chatillon, on the same day that the Men’s First Team played their own first summer friendly.
Annamaria Serturini was the player most keen to pose problems early on. Serturini, a new face with the Bianconere, drove in from the left in an attempt to get the scoring going inside seven minutes, but having breached the Servette backline, she saw her poked effort saved.
Serturini and Anna Capeta continued to lead the Bianconere from the front while, at the other end, Larissa Rusek was called into action to make her first save after the hydration break and half-hour mark, gathering a tame header easily on the end of a free-kick.
It came as no real surprise that Serturini’s signature was on the opening goal, with 36 minutes played. Julia Bartel intercepted a stray Servette pass in the centre of the park and set off towards the opponents’ box, then slipping Serturini in to slot home.
Coach Isaac Guerrero made nine changees at half time, with the idea of restarting with intensity. Servette, though, came out on the front foot and Danielle de Jong had to be alert despite being fresh off the bench.
The Bianconere found their feet again though and the second goal then came through Michela Cambiaghi. This time it was Martina Rosucci who won possession back in the attacking half of the pitch, and the forward was set through to finish.
Barbara Bonansea and Kysha Sylla looked to add a third for the Bianconere, but it wasn’t to come. In the end, a 2-0 win got pre-season up and running in the Aosta Valley.
