Guglielmo Vicario was one of the last names on the Juventus shortlist to replace Michele Di Gregorio, but his performances have been adequate so far. He’s already considered highly likely to be bought out at the end of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Mediaset).

The veteran will sign a three-year contract that is already in place if he indeed stays. Despite the likely permanence of their current starter and the imminent arrival of Norberto Neto, the Old Lady remains very keen on Frosinone’s Lorenzo Palmisani for the future.

They contemplated signing him and leaving him on loan at the Ciociari last summer already. However, they had to use their budget to address other needs. His price tag and the competition have quickly increased since the season started.

He’s been fine where Di Gregorio struggled: staying on point despite facing only a few shots. The clause is so low that he’d have to have a series of gaffes to be let go. He could easily become a mentor and deputy if they eventually acquire a talented youngster in the future.
