Bidu and Matheuzinho shine as Corinthians’ top full-backs

The starting full-backs of Corinthians have been standing out significantly since Dorival Júnior took over as the team's head coach in April 2025. Statistics gathered by Sofascore, an app specialized in statistics, highlight the importance of Matheus Bidu and Matheuzinho in the alvinegra team.

On the left side, Matheus Bidu emerges as one of the main names in the squad in defensive indicators. In 39 matches under Dorival's command, the player leads the ranking of balls recovered among outfield players, with 199 actions, and holds the second position in duels won, with 203, only behind Breno Bidon. Bidu also ranks among the top five in defensive actions, with 174 records, and in tackles, with 49, reinforcing his consistency and intensity throughout the season.

On the right side, Matheuzinho also presents consistent numbers and consolidates himself as a key player in Corinthians' defensive structure. In 44 games, the full-back comfortably leads the ranking of defensive actions, totaling 301 interventions, and ranks first in tackles, with 104 successful actions. Additionally, Matheuzinho holds the third position in both duels won (195) and balls recovered (143), highlighting his constant presence on both sides of the field.

In the Super Cup victory against Flamengo, the duo had standout numbers. Matheus Bidu finished the match with one interception, one tackle, one clearance, five ground duels won, ten ball recoveries, 52 actions with the ball, one key pass, 84% pass accuracy (26 successful out of 31 attempts), and three fouls suffered, maintaining a score of 7.9.

Meanwhile, Matheuzinho recorded three tackles, two interceptions, five clearances, two ball recoveries, five ground duels won, two aerial duels won, one foul suffered, three key passes, and 87% pass accuracy (20 successful out of 23 attempts), receiving a score of 7.3.

The Alvinegro, now, after the Super Cup of Brazil title against Flamengo in Brasília, will return to the field next Thursday (5th) at 8:30 PM (Brasília time) to face Capivariano at the Neo Química Arena for the sixth round of the state championship.
