VI is reporting that Emil Hansson is set to leave Heracles to join Birmingham City. The forward is likely to cost the midlands club around €2m as they look to bounce back from relegation to League One. Hansson was under contract in the Eredivisie until 2025 but it appears that the club are happy to cash in on him this summer, rather than potentially lose him for free in a years time.

Hansson, who is valued at €1.5m, joined Heracles from Fortuna Sittard in the winter of 2022. Prior to then he had played for Brann, Feyenoord, RKC Waalwijk and Hannover 96. The striker was born in Bergen, the city where Brann play, but is eligible to play at international level for both Norway and Sweden. The 26-year-old represented both nations at youth level.

During his first season with Heracles the forward scored 16 goals in 36 games, grabbing an incredible 19 assists as well. That was during the sides promotion season from the Dutch second tier. During the Eredivisie season that just finished he scored five goals and grabbed six assists in 24 games.
