WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this evening.
The 22-year-old wide player joins Birmingham City after opting to leave former club Durham. The North East side were keen to retain the player’s services for this season but they were unable to do so.
Crosthwaite is a product of the Durham academy system. She went on to break into the professional team after turning out for the Durham Cestria side. In total, Crosthwaite made 92 appearances for Durham in all competitions while she has scored eight goals.
Given the positive start that she has made to her career in County Durham, Crosthwaite is regarded as one of the top young talents in Barclays WSL2.
After completing her move to Birmingham City, Crosthwaite said “I think a lot of the goals and the ambitions of the club are really exciting.
“Hopefully, it’s something that can develop me as a player and I can help contribute to it, then that would be massive.
“It’s just a really exciting place to be.”
Crosthwaite is Birmingham City’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
